My name is Loes (pronounced like Lose) and I'm a twenty year old girl from the Netherlands. I love sunny days, enjoying nature, dancing music, swimming in the sea, nice food, meeting new people and good conversations. For me, traveling is a way to combine all of this and that's why I love it so much. At the moment I'm studying Industrial design in my home country, but I'm already looking forward to my next trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A big part of traveling is talking to other people, learn from them, look at the differences and similarities, laugh with eachother. I love to do this with other travelers, but talking to local people makes a trip so much more special. For me, Couchsurfing is a way to explore with local knowledge, to get a real image of the way people live and to meet people you otherwise would have never met.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch movies very often, I usually fall asleep when I do. I do like it though! I'm fine with every genre, except for really harsh movies or movies without a storyline and just heaps of fighting. I'm a very big fan of the Friends series.

Listening to music all day long. I like different genres, but some of my favorites are: RHCP, John Mayer, Sons of the east, Coldplay and Milky Chance. I am learning to play the piano.

My favorite book is a Dutch book called 'Een schitterend gebrek'. If I find a good book, I can't stop reading and that's what I love about it. My favorite genre is family drama related, but I can also enjoy a thriller.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling on my own at 18, visiting Kazakhstan. Furthermore so many special experiences - watched the sunrise in the Grand Canyon, snorkeled in the crack between the North American and Eurasian continents, climbed the Chinese wall - all amazing !!
