About Me

I'm a 28 year old consultant living in Amsterdam with my two best friends. On 1 December 2016 I'm starting a new job so I'm taking a trip in South America: from Santiago, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I love traveling and meeting new people. Currently, I'm learning Spanish so the trip there should be perfect for that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my trip I want to get involved with the local life, not getting caught in the turist traps. Hanging out with local people is so much better in that regard, especially as I enjoy company.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is difficult to say, because I like too much. I actually make a music quiz once a month for a small crowd. But a few favorites are John Mayer, The Beatles, Coldplay and Counting Crows.

Godfather I and II, hands down best movies ever. Others are Mr. Nobody, The Matrix (only part one), LotR Trilogy, Star Wars (nerd alert!) and Anchorman. But seriously, I could keep going. I also have a strange talent for remembering everything from movies, so you can test me.

Earnest Hemingway is the best author ever, especially because of The Sun Also Rises. Other great books include The Great Gatsby, On the Road and books by Robbert Harris and Khaled Hosseini.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last June I traveled solo to Indonesia for a month. The best thing I've done there was take a four-day boat ride from Lombok to Flores. We visited small unpopulated islands and went snorkeling with manta rays. Every morning I would watch the sun rise out of the sea and every night you would see the sunset before you could see every star imaginable. The whole experience was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach? Well I'm a 28 year old History major, so not that much I suppose ;) I speak a couple of languages, so perhaps that can be useful.

I want to improve my Spanish and the best way is through speaking. My hosts can therefore constantly tell me what I'm saying wrong.

And I'm a pretty decent chef, at least I like to think so. Perhaps I'm a terrible chef... You'll just have to risk it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can do my music quiz (all in English) which is quite fun. I have all the songs I need in my Spotify account and all the questions in my Dropbox so ready to play! I'll also definitely take my hosts out for a couple of drinks, my treat obviously.
