About Me

Hello travelers! ✌
I am a Colombian girl who loves to travel even when I can't do it as much and often as I would like to. I'm an animal lover and vegetarian. I love to create things, drawing, and painting. Amateur comic author, I love drawing and invent stories. Reading books and watching movies or series is something I enjoy very much too, as well as playing video games. Unfortunately, I hadn't had much time for that in a while.
I practice meditation and I am a beginner in yoga, even when I find them difficult some times.
I prefer nature over big cities, however, I adapt to almost every environment.
In my job I do different crafts, my favorite and the one I focus the most right now is sewing plushies 🐹🐺
I'm usually sociable and talkative so it's easy to talk to me about anything, even about things I have no clue about, I would be very interested in listening and learn and probably would make a lot of questions. But I also can be quiet and you wouldn't even know I exist 😅 ...it really depends on you, since I understand some people are not very talkative and prefer their time by themselves, I respect that. However, if you ask me, I prefer the chatting 😜
I don't know what more to say here because is so general, I think that's it and with the other sections of the profile, you might get an overall idea about me. However, if you have questions, just ask.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet people from different cultures, share experiences with travelers and local people from the places I visit. As for people who travel to my city, even if I can't host, I would love to show you around and help in anything you need if it's possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:

No music-No life! ...music is my fuel, I'm not productive enough without it 😱 It's crazy but it really helps me to work better and faster. I'm most of the time listening music, though I can enjoy silence too, especially in early mornings when I wake up with the singing of birds... well, at the end that's music too! 😍 My favorites (besides birds) would be rock, hard-rock, metal, violin music, Celtic music, folk-rock, jrock, visual kei... however, I can enjoy any kind of music, it depends on the mood and the situation.
Some of my favorite songs: Estranged (Guns n' Roses)
Born to be my baby (Bon Jovi)
From the cradle to the enslave (Cradle of Filth)
The Phantom of the Opera (Nightwish version, and violin version by Lindsey Sterling)
Viva la Vida (violin version by David Garret)
Runaway train (Soul Asylum)
Take on me (A-ha)
La Isla Bonita (Madonna)
Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen)
Sensorium (Epica)
Nobody's fool (Cinderella)
Until Eternity (Black Briar)
Crying of the sun (Metalwings)
Destiny -the lovers- (Versailles)
Yami no Kuni no Alice (D)
Missing (Gackt)
Everlasting Dream (Hizaki Grace Project)
Sin miedo a nada (Alex Ubago)
La venganza de Gaia (Mago de Oz)
La leyenda del hada y el mago (Rata Blanca)
Solo (Ekimosis)
...just to mention some because there are actually hundreds of favorite songs 🎶🎵
Movies and videogames soundtracks are usually amazing too. And everything from David Garret ❤ he is the most amazing violin player ever!!!

MOVIES:
Wow so many!! Just to mention some: ...Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Enchanted, 50 first dates, Neverending Story, Back to the Future, Top Gun, Ghibli movies, El lado oscuro del corazón, Titanic, The man in the iron mask, Marvel movies, Top Secret, Wall-E, Ice Age, The Shape of Water... and I'm very interested in short animated movies, the one I've loved the most so far is called "The Tree and the Cat", a russian 2D animated short with beautiful art and a wonderful story told in a simple but very well done narrative.
And... I have to mention this: I've watched every version I could find of The Phantom of the Opera. It's just my favorite play/book/movie/song/everything ever!!! Cinema versions vary a lot, some really good that make me cry, and other so bad that.. make me cry 😑
From time to time I like to watch documentaries and the field of interest vary, recently I am obsessed about quantum physics in relation to spirituality, which is hard to understand (and even harder to practice) but I find it super interesting!

BOOKS:
The Little Prince, Neverending Story, Wuthering Highs, Treasure Island, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, Dracula, Ann Rice's Vampire Chronicles, Ink Heart, The Phantom of the Opera, Lord of the Rings... well fantasy in general, some science fiction too, and Stephen King of course! Oh, I almost forget: books about pirates!! I find pirates fascinating... I probably wouldn't have thought the same if I had lived in piracy times and had been attacked by one 😱 However in literature and art in general, pirates and vampires are characters I adore (except by Twilight saga, I really didn't like that at all) Ok enough with novels, I also like books of spiritual and philosophical content. Wayne Dyer, C.G. Jung, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Tania Karam are some of my favorites in spiritual/psychological areas, also readings about Tao and Zen. And history, but my memory is so lame than even when I read a lot of history, I keep forgetting specific data like names or dates 😂

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rescue dogs and cats.
I've turned my house into a foster home for rescued cats (that's why I can't host, it's crazy around here 😱).
It works like this: I take in stray cats, take care of them, neuter them, then find homes to adopt them. Except is hard to find homes for all of them, especially if they are adults; so the ones no one adopts, stay here. There are 22 cats at the moment and I can't take more in because space is not enough for more.
It was one of my childhood dreams to have my own place where I could help animals in need, and I have made that dream true for more than ten years!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to try different vegetarian cooking, learn from others and teach the dishes I know. 😊
I also like languages. I can teach you Spanish and practice English with you. I would like to learn any language, right now I am studying Finnish, but I am curious about any language.
I'm good at crafts in general, sewing is kind of my specialty so if you're interested in learning that, I'll be glad to teach you.
I love drawing and painting and I am in a constant process of learning arts. I also find photography very interesting, although I've never tried it seriously and my only camera is the one of my cellphone 😅
I am now studying videogames design online, just a short introductory course (6 months) that hopefully will help to get into the program at University (the second option would be animation).
I know a few things about dogs and cats' care after a long experience of providing shelter and dealing with them sometimes in really difficult situations. Of course, I don't have the knowledge of a veterinarian, but I could give you some useful tips.
I love video games even when I hadn't had enough time to play for a while, but if you enjoy that too it would be fun to have a mario kart race or whatever 😉
A movie or tv serie while sharing snacks or good talk and a couple of beers are also nice plans 😊

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lot of conversation, help with your pets if you have any, obviously help at household tasks; also everything I listed in the previous section.
If you like sports or exercise, we can do it together. Even if is not the same I usually do, I'll be happy to try new things.
I love music so listening to music while drinking a few beers is absolutely one of the things I would like to share with new (and old) friends.
If ingredients are found in your country, I can cook for you and teach you veg versions of typical Colombian food. (I'm sorry not to cook the originals, but most of them include meat of some kind, and me cooking tortured/slaughtered animals is just not gonna happen).
