Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Maya, born in Georgia (Georgia in Causacus mountains, not in US) but growing up in Poland. Together with my family travel around the globe to show our kids how great and colorful world can be. We homeschool our kids.
Here are our family members:
Wojtek (pronounce it Voy-teck) - family head, CEO and many more. Analitical mind, left his big company to travel.
Maya - family neck ;-) opposite from my other half I am more into emotions than logic and people than machines ;) I was working as art director/designer/creative.
Titus - teenager. Crazy about manga, anime, fantasy books, RPG, karate.
Simon - 8 years old. Wild creature, loving animals, creating own fantasy worlds, talking all the time and/or running around with stick.
During this trip we visited: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore , Thailand, Cambodia , Vietnam and Philippines, Japan, French Polynesia, Hawai’i, US.
We are currently in Mexico.
You can follow our trip on www.20000miles.pl ( in Polish and English)
Travelling is also a great opportunity to learn more about the things I do for life: how marketing communication looks like in different countries and how we can communicate the same ideas to people coming from different cultures. My husband reads a lot about technology and how it changes our world and how we work, live and play. He is the observer of everyday life and then loves to share with people what he discovered. Our older son is all about manga, role-playing games and books, while the younger one is a distant cousin of Mowgli from The Jungle Book and Harry Potter.

Music, Movies, and Books
The list is long and still growing, for me starting with Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, though Pearl Jam (beloved one!), Faith no More, Dead can Dance, Massive Attack, Portihead, Tori Amos... oh you see, I just started... Wojtek prefers heavy sounds, like Metallica and Iron Maiden, but his list is also quite big :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It seems we already did more than one thing ;)
1. Making round the world trip!
2. Taking kids from regular school and start big unschooling/democratic school adventure.
3. Living in paradise island Mauritius for a year.
4. Diving!
Teach, Learn, Share
Travelling is one big learning adventure and you have to revisit many things and ideas we had about the world. We already spent one year living in outside of our home country, having kids in an international school, studying a different curriculum and see - there is no single best recipe to grow kids, to learn, study and grow up. People we met gave us interesting perspectives about life in their home places like India, Australia, almost all of Europe and US. Now seeting Asia first hand is unique with every day bringing new experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can cook , share stories, pictures and videos from places we visited or share our passions - travelling, diving, music. We can help in the house and garden. Wojtek can share his knowledge about computers/IT, Maja can share her knowledge about computer graphics/drawing etc.
We are also quite into alternative education since we signed out of the schooling system in our home country. This in itself is a great lesson on what is important for the your ones, what the school offers and where it misses and also about parenting in general. So far, 4 years in the journey and it was one of the best decisions in our life.
