About Me

Hi!

I am originally from Belgium, but I have been living in Montreal for 4 years.
I finished college last summer and as though I love learning, I decided to take a year off school. I made that decision because it is important for me to get out of my comfort zone and discover other parts of the world and different cultures. I am travelling through Russia, Mongolia, China and southeast Asia until June 2017, and I will be going back to school in Montreal in September 2017, in engineering.
I am very outgoing and I (almost) never say no to going out!
I enjoy hiking, wandering through cities and I am always looking for breathtaking landscapes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend has been using couchsurfing for a while and she convinced me to do so! She told me she had the best experiences through couchsurfing and that it was the best way to discover new places authentically!

Music, Movies, and Books

The music I enjoy the most is live music! I can't go to concerts all the time so I compensate with some folk/alternative on my iPod. Of course I always love good 90s sing-alongs, and I don't refuse dancing on pop music of the moment.

My favourite book is definitely "The Glass Castle". It's always the first book I recommend to friends, and I always like to go back to it and read some pages for fun. I also read all the Harry Potter books, many times, and they will always be my favourite "childhood books".

The best movie I watched recently is "The Imitation Game", but I must admit I don't know a lot about movies and that I still have a lot of "must-see" to watch on my bucket list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 15, I moved to Montreal, Canada with my mom, dad and younger brother. I decided to go to school in English there even though I couldn't speak a word of it. The first months were rough, but as of Christmas break I could understand everything, and by the end of the year I was fluent in English! I made unforgettable friends at this school, and everyday I am glad to have made this decision as I am now bilingual!
