About Me

I´m a 22yo Chilean teenager, currently spending a semester abroad of my degree (TEFL) at the University of Southampton, UK until March 2017. I'm an easy-going person who enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds. I consider myself as a super open-minded guy and also very respectful when it comes to listening to others' thoughts and beliefs. I really enjoy long and deep conversations on pretty much any topic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to seize my time in Europe and get to travel across these lands as much as possible. Also, I've been told by my friends who have already lived the Couchsurfing experience that this is a completely different way to discover the place you´re planning to go. Who could advise you best on what to do than a local? ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been twice awarded by the US State Department to go on two exchange programs to learn different topics related to this country (Youth Ambassadors program 2012, Study of the US Institutes for Student Leaders 2015). Thanks to those experiences my vision of the world was expanded and enriched, and so were my socializing and sharing-with-people skills. I opened my eyes to the world and started to be aware of the wide range cultures that exist on our planet. Therefore, I started to appreciate all the contribution that diversity brings along.

I consider these are my top achievements so far since it is quite difficult to be taken to live such once in lifetime experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am keen on teaching about the Chilean culture, traditions, foods, and of course the language (Spanish). I am also willing to learn as much as possible from my host and the place I stay in terms of historical and cultural background.
