Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There might be thousands of other beautiful travel quotes, but this one definitely expresses our current feelings.
In this time of humanitarian crisis, lack of empathy and desperation, there is still a lot of people, who believe in kindness, generosity, friendship, and above all, goodwill among people no matter what race, ethnic background, sexual orientation and religion.
We want to start our journey with that on mind, and prove that no matter how tall of a wall they put up, no matter how wrongly we are labeled; there will always be people who will see with eyes unclouded.
We are a Mexican couple about to go backpacking around the world. The objective: To leave a piece of Mexico in each border, showing not all Mexicans are rapists and criminals. We are honest, hardworking and friendly people.
As we cannot give more, a symbolic wristband will be our way to present those who don’t know our country but are willing to, through our pictures, our stories, our words, and if possible, why not? a traditional meal.
In the way, we will take pictures and write about our journey and all the exciting encounters that we will have. With all this, we hope we can get rid of stereotypes and show the truth of a united world open to cultural exchange.
