Hey!

My name is Ignacio and I'm 18 years old. I was born in Asturias, a northern region in Spain where I've been living all my life. I'm studying Law and Business Management at Oviedo University and I'm also perfecting my English and studying French on my own since I've always liked languages and I truly believe self education is an effective learning method.

I consider myself a positive, open-minded, creative, inquisitive human being who loves trying new things, getting to know people from all over the world and learning from others. I do drama, debate and NU simulations at college and I'm also a member of an international student association called AEGEE, whose main aim is to unify Europe and encourage diversity, non-formal education and cultural exchanges. Besides, I do some volunteering proyects every now and then, which I really enjoy.

Travelling's become one of my passions since I've always had this need to see the world for myself. I try to travel as much as possible spending as little money as possible every time I get the chance. All my travel experiences have allowed me to change my perspective of the world, meet really interesting people and change my life style. I feel like all my trips have made me who I am today and I'm 100% sure I still have much to learn and discover in my future trips.

I'm not really certain about what I'll do for a living when I grow older and I finish my studies. I'm quite interested in entrepreneurship, education and international affairs. However, I know for sure I wouldn't like to get stuck in the same place for all my life. I'd like to have a flexible job and live in different countries before I settle down. Some relatives and people close to me aren't really fond of this idea and tell me not to be so 'dreamy' and 'naive' but I realized I want to live my life the way I want to and not how I'm supposed to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was in the Netherlands, I met lots of travellers who told me about how they travelled within Europe with not much money during days, weeks and even months. They said CouchSurfing was a great alternative to meet locals, make good friends and travel cheap, so they recommended me to join this site and give it a try. My curiosity and willingness to travel in a different way led me here... and here I am now!!
