I am a student in Charlotte, NC, USA who is currently studying French in Dijon, France. After I finish my degree, I would like to become an English teacher overseas - most likely in a French speaking country in Europe or Northern or Western Africa. My family hosted a lot of students and couchsurfers growing up, so I love to meet new people - whether I'm traveling or welcoming them into my home!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently couchsurfing because I am a student living in Europe and I want to travel as much as I can. It's always more fun to meet people when you travel, and couchsurfing gives you a sense of community and home - whereas hostels and hotels can be expensive and hard to book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a summer internship in Uganda where I helped to organize a children's library, mentor students, and do outdoor/sports activities with local children. I lived in Quebec, Canada for a summer and nannyed. I have been to Haiti 3 times on missions trips.

Teach, Learn, Share

At my university I work with the international office, and I have learned so much about other cultures through that job! And while traveling is fun, it can be uncomfortable to put yourself out there and learn a new language or a new culture, but it's so rewarding, and I've made so many friends that have become like family! We all have something to learn and something to share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am trying to learn French, but at the same time, I am happy to have conversations in English if anyone is trying to learn/practice their English! I am also always happy to share stories and pictures about my travels and my home in NC (and once I return, I'm happy to host anyone who would like to visit the USA!) I also love to bake, and would be happy to make cookies :)
