I'm a teacher from the Philippines participating in a Teacher Exchange Program in the US. I'm currently teaching Science at a middle school here in Colorado Springs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling on my own, exploring new places, trying out new food, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures. But I believe that the best way to have an authentic cultural experience is by staying and traveling with locals who know the place by heart, who have lots of stories to tell, etc.

Interests

When I travel, I make my own itinerary revolving around my interests, making it a point to eat local dishes and delicacies, avoid tourist traps and explore new places, and take photos with my trusty camera (though I'm still new to photography).

I plan to travel to as many places here in the US before my three years stay is up. Aside from exploring my city Colorado Springs, I've been to other parts of Colorado such as Denver, Vail, Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Manitou Springs, Pueblo, Cañon City, and Crested Butte. Out of state, I've been to Lake Havasu City AZ, Las Vegas NV, and Los Angeles CA.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to and singing along the pop hits off the car radio, but I have a special preference for pop rock music from the likes of Simple Plan, Maroon 5, or 5 Seconds of Summer.

Saw the movie "Forrest Gump" when I was a kid and remembered enjoying it. Watched it again now that I'm older and realized there's a lot of deep layers to the movie I didn't know, and that this is my favorite movie thus far. But then of course, I'm a big fan of all Marvel movies as well.

Read the Harry Potter series, the Percy Jackson series, the Series of Unfortunate Events series, the Chronicles of Narnia series, the Lord or the Rings series... (so yeah I like most book series with a fantasy setting) But I love books from Paulo Coehlo, Neil Geiman, Dan Brown, and Josh Grisham as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Tagalog and Cebuano if for whatever reason you're interested in learning these languages.

I can teach you how to cook a dish or two. I specialize in Filipino, Japanese, Mediterranean, and Indian cuisine. Or I could just cook some and we could share over the meal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Went to Los Angeles for three days and got to 15 different destinations just riding public transportation.
