I'm a 18 years old guy living in Poland. I love travel, meeting new people (how cliché is writing such things in this place? anyway, that's true), math, languages, yoga, dance, photography. I'm not sure what are my plans for the future, I only know that after high school (meaning this summer) I'm going to set out to France to polish the language, earn some money and then I'm off for a week or two of backpacking in France/Italy. The road is really calling me and I need to get a taste of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need to sleep somewhere and I'm broke most of the time, yeah, but more importantly I've heard a lot that the experience is like no other and I'd like to see for myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I've been listening to a lot of instrumental/classical music you could hear in a film because it's beautiful when I pay attention and at the same time doesn't distract me while I'm studying, working out, planning something. I'm also into ambient and some soul or chilled hip-hop. Sometimes I get this urge to listen to some old Polish rock or folk music. Also enjoying some club music but almost exclusively when i'm in the club.
With movies my all-time favourites would be The Lord of the Rings, all three films. Other than that I enjoy both older and new productions. I only hate horrors. Sometimes romantic movies disgust me a bit if they're too naive so that's not the best shot for me either.
When I was younger I used to read all day but now it's not the thing anymore, sadly, though I still love reading. When I find some time I enjoy Polish classics (Miłosz, Herbert, Mickiewicz). I also used to read book after book of any travel/fantasy series I could find but over time especially the latter ceased to bring me so much joy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three years ago I signed up for a sailing trip. I couldn't swim (and I still can't do too well, it's a shame) so when our boat would lean to the side because of the wind I would start to scream in horror. You see, those boats almost never flip and when you see them, they usually are just about a 30 degree angle from straight when they incline the most but when you're actually sailing on such a boat it feels as though it's soon going underwater. The adrenaline is amazing. Steering a boat brings tons of satisfaction. It's like magic. But the best thing about it all is that you're there with your friends and I believe you never get to know people better than when you're sailing, cooking and sleeping together on the boat so small that each time you move you inevitably bang your head onto something. The people I was there with three years ago are still my best friends and it was a blessing to be there for that one magical week.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not sure what this box should be about? Well I would be glad to share what I know about my culture (I'm from Poland), the languages I know (I'm fluent in Polish, my mother tongue, and English. I'm also fascinated by French and I feel like soon I'll know enough to be able to share), dance and yoga (I can do a stretching session, talk about the human body, teach you a headstand or a ballet turn or actually break a lot of sweat). I can always clean your house too.
