About Me

Hi,

My name is Seanie and I'm from Donegal in Ireland. I'm 29, and I am hugely enjoying my Human Experience so far.

I am polite, kind and hard working individual, willing to help out in anyway towards the goal of a holistically happy and healthy sustainable lifestyle,
I'm eternally optimistic, and am on a sort of pilgrimage, hoping to find the true nature of myself. And partner and place, with which to share it.
I've spent the last 5 years traveling, working and wwoofing, in Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and now currently Canada.
Searching for places, people and plants, to invest my time and energy, enjoying Karmic exchanges in very symbiotic ways.

After finishing school, I worked as a butcher and painted abstractly with oils on canvas obsessively, in Sligo, Ireland for 3 years, before I started my higher education.
Availing of a wide range of introduction course in Galway university, I choose to studied Permacuture in Cork, Ireland, for 2 years.
Leaving that I moved to Spain for 6 months to work on an organic farm and gain experience in foreign travel and sustainable living.
Returning to Ireland I worked a season managing a organic farm in Kinsale, Co cork, before again traveling Europe. Wwoofing in France and helping my Italian friend with his green building project in Treviso, Italy, I've been lucky to see a huge diversity of farming natures. Moving to Portugal, I wwoofed on 3 farms for long periods, loving every moment.

Returning again to Ireland, I worked at The Organic center, Co. Leitrim for 9 months to save and to emigrate to Canada on a 2 year working holiday Visa.
Living here in Winlaw, British Columbia., I've worked in Organic gardening, indoor gardening, sustainable building, butchery, meat curing, ceramic tile crafting, fencing, land clearing, pruning, pond building and landscaping.

Exploring this vast land so far has brought me to the furthest most reaches of the Alaskan highways, top to bottom, seeing the Canadian Rockies, and the Yukon on route. Living most of my time near the Valhalla mountain range, I've climbed the peaks, crossed glaciers and swam the lakes, embracing this paradise. Along with building environments and relationships will last lifetimes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't been a member in a few year due to Europe having so many affordable hostels which are a great way to meet other travelers and locals, which is always my quest in city's. North American city's don't seem to have the same culture of lodging, and motels or hotels don't offer the same reception necessary for navigating a new city
Unfortunately my Visa for Canada is soon finished, and leaving here I would love to see the coast-line of Washington, Oregon, and California. Hopefully meet and stay awhile with the Old Growth that still stand there and the people that grow with them. Learn and help, when and where I can. Before continuing on south, with South America calling and Peru my destination after the USA, who know where life leads, but I'd love to meet you along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

Very difficult question to answer, many types of music, movies and books especially have changed my life in very different but equally significant ways, so it's hard to put my finger on a list, but meet me and I'm sure we'll discuss them at length..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove from Nelson, B.C to Alaska and all around it in a epic trip with 2 friends in a 1991 Toyota corolla, covering 10,000kms in 3 weeks...

Teach, Learn, Share

Very thing there is to know about living a holistically happy and healthy sustainable life.
