Overview
About Me
I'm Jakub (Kuba, closer friends call me Kokos), I'm from Poland. Currently I'm a student of Climatology and Atmosphere Protection, Hispanic Studies as well as Chinese Studies at the University of Wroclaw. I'm 21.
I study foreign languages because I consider them to be the key to be an aware citizen of the Earth. My goal is to be able to communicate as good as I could with as many people as I could in order to understand the contemporary world through their way of thinking and expressing themselves. I'd love to have some contribution in improving, widely understood, the world we're living in and I think that the ability of speaking foreign languages is one of the most useful tools. This is also the reason of my choice of Climatology studies. I haven't found out much about how it works yet but I'll strive to gain the knowledge that I could use, here we go again, to contribute in improving the contemporary situation of the world.
I literally love travelling! It gives us possibilities of getting to know ourselves as well as tightening relations with the people who we're close with or meeting new people and sharing opinions and exchanging experiences with them. Generally, imo travelling broadens our minds a lot.
I could say I'm a son of the mum - she's always gonna be the woman of my life.
I love spending time with my family and friends and getting to know good people. Of course, sometimes I need some time just for myself.
I used to play basketball around 8 years, I love sport in general, especially volleyball, table tennis and surfing.
The previous academic year I spent on Canary Islands as my Erasmus+ staying - it's been one of the best and richest in amazing experiences period of my life! I totally fell in love with Las Canarias!
I started working as a Spanish teacher in a Spanish language schooll in Wroclaw 😄 I hope I'll spread my passion to my students!
I'd love to learn how to play guitar and be able to sing nicely so my friends would never tell me again to shut up while I'm halfway of my runs 😎 I'd love to study Oceanography and deal with it in future 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First of all, I'd like to meet people from around the world, exchange experiences, share opinions and broaden my mind and maybe broaden other people's minds too. I also think that the person who live in a certain city can show you something you wouldn't encounter on your own and tell you more about the place. Improving my skills of foreign languages would be an advantage too. I also prefer spending money on food and some beers or something else we could sip while talking with each other except of spending it on a staying in a hotel or something similar.

Teach, Learn, Share
If everyone cared and nobody cried,
If everyone loved and nobody lied,
If everyone shared and swallowed the pride,
Then we'd see the day when nobody died.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could share my experience and my view of the world. I'm able and willing to think and talk deeply and exchange experiences and opinions - communication is the basis of good relations among human beings.
I consider myself to be really open-minded, but recently I've been noticing that I still have some doors in my mind which are waiting for opening. Maybe you have the keys and maybe I have some keys to open some doors in your mind.
I love situational jokes as well as juegos de palabras (? 😅) so I can offer my attempts to make the atmosphere loose and cheerful 😁
I cook a bit - I can prepare something tasty for us 🤗 Although a few years ago I was about to cook pasta in cold water, recently I've had to cook on my own and I learnt a bit. The proof: my previous flatmate told me she's got some kilos more than she used to after being my flatmate half a year 😜 We can do PIEROGI!
While visiting a new place abroad I usually have some Polish vodka as a gift - be sure you'll try it! I can teach you the languages I speak or we can do a tandem :) I invite you also to Wroclaw where I can host you.
