About Me

I grew up in Brussels (Belgium) and Marrakech (Morocco). Besides these two cities, I recently spent 6 months in each of the following cities: Los Angeles, Hamburg, Jerusalem and North-India.

Having studied History of Philosophy, with a minor in Computer Science, I am currently pursuing a PhD Student in History and Philosophy of Science in Belgium.

I am quite easy-going (I guess, or I hope). Here are few things I particularly like : cooking, watching movies, walking, reading essays.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Getting to know the myriad of tiny gestures and habits that makes each place unique is certainly one of the things I enjoy the most in travelling (long stays in foreign lend, especially).

I guess meeting people through CouchSurfing is probably one of the best way to get a glimpse of that! Somehow, the recent rise of "commercial sharing platforms" also impelled me to be more active on this platform.

I did CouchSurf four 7 years ago, in North India, with a friend and really enjoyed it! We had unique experience in Udaipur, Srinagar and Jodhpur. Having a taste of the what 'real-life' look like in a city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies : The Trial ; The Idiots ; Guardians of Galaxy ; Divines ; A Separation

Books: Emile Ajar's The Life Before Us ; Roald Dahl's My Uncle Oswald ; Homer's Iliad

Essays: Deleuze's Spinoza Practical Philosophy ; Rheinberger's Toward a History of Epistemic Things ; Simondon's On the Modes of Existence of Technical Objects

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Get Lost in the Moroccan Atlas mountains at 4000m of Altitudes - without proper trekking skills (obviously)!

Teach, Learn, Share

'Culture', if one can still use this old word. I have rudimentary notions of Art and Architecture, but love to visit museums. Cities are generally the best museums!

Slightly obsessional with History of Religions, History of Philosophies and History of Recent Sciences! Love to talk about that!

Politically aware, but above all, extremely peacefull and willing to discover new lenses through which seeing the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking: Moroccan 'Chicken-Lemon-Olives' ; Belgian 'Rabbit-Beer-Biscuits' ; East-European 'Bortsch's Soup'.

Stories: about Marrakech (beautiful imperial Morroccan city where I (eventually) became an adult ; about Molenbeek (this sadly and wrongly famous neighbourhood in Brussels, where I grew up) ; about crazy stuff happening during my travels (e.g. attending a traditional wedding on my first day in India!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, British Indian Ocean Territory, France, Germany, Israel, Nepal, Palestine, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Morocco
