About Me

Moving around the world and looking at things from every perspective. I’m originally from Kuala Lumpur, but have moved to Bonn from September 2017. My favourite part of travelling is meeting people and getting a new point of view, I feel like with every place I go, the people there offer me a different perspective of the world. The thing I like about Couchsurfing is that it doesn’t just offer you a place to stay, but it offers you the opportunity to create bonds with people that you may stay friends with for a lifetime.

I’m not much of a party-goer, I prefer to spend my days at a Café people watching or just staying at home. However, I don’t mind the occasional drink or two, especially if the place is nice and easy to talk in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on couchsurfing to not just look for a place to stay, but to make meaningful connections along the way. To me, travelling is not just about sightseeing or the food, the most important part about travelling is the people. You don’t understand a place if you don’t understand the people, and living like a local is the first step to understanding a place.

Interests

I would say my interests differ from time to time, but I spend a lot of my free time at cafes either people watching, listening to music or reading. Sometimes all at the same time.
I also like going to museums and art galleries every now and then, my favourite pieces of art include ‘Van Gogh’s Self Portrait’ and ‘The Wanderer Above The Sea Of Fog’.

Furthermore, I always like to have a conversation with people, I’ve been told I’m a good listener and can talk about almost any topic there is, as I like to think that I’m well informed.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to indie and rock music, but also dibble a little into pop every now and then. I have a few artists that I listen to all the time including: ‘Passenger’, ‘Elton John’ and so on.

My favourite genre of movies are dramas, off the top of my head, ‘Amélie’, ‘Forrest Gump’, The Shawshank Redemption’ just to name a few. Furthermore, romantic movies are my guilty pleasure, I love ‘Me Before You’, ‘A Star Is Born’, ‘One Day’ etc. My favourite tv series include ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’.

My favourite genre of books is currently young adult books, I really like them because I feel that I can relate to them, and that the stories somehow resonate with me, one that I really like is called ‘Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine’

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove along the great Ocean road in Australia from dusk till dawn.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to meditate. I meditate about 20-30 minutes daily.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can converse in multiple languages, and can help you learn some languages. I myself am interested in learning languages, as I already speak German quite well, and am learning Spanish right now. Furthermore, I could cook a meal for you, growing up I used to always cook for my parents, and I wouldn’t mind cooking for you too.
