Hi,

I`m Maik. My name is equal to the American "Mike" which is an abbreviation for Michael ( in Eastern Germany it`s was very in common to spell it like that :-) ).

I was raised in Klingenthal/ Saxony which is in the Eastern part of Germany in the former GDR ( German Democratic Republik ).
Actually I have been born in the GDR in 1985 a former soliatistic country which I can`t really remember because I have been very young at that time.

My home town has always been a place of much snow and winter sports because of that I grew up doing lot of skiing, ice skating and so on...

I trained for being a cook. So I can cook very well if I want to :-).

I also like electronic music and rock music.

Since 2015 I`m busy with helping refugees from Syria or Afghanistan since the big "Refugee Crisis" ( which actually was none to Germany ) in Germany.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I`m on Couchsurfing because I`m tyred of the region I`m living in.
I`m tyred of the thinking and principles that the people have in mind here.
I was brought up quite open minded because my mother taught me how to be like that but the majority of the people near to my hometown and near to my current residence are not like that. I want to have new views on my current situation and I want to learn new thinking and thoughts from other people.

I took a first step doing this by helping refugees and seeing how they develope in learning German and adopting to German culture.
Now it`s time for me to take the next step and go out on my own.

At the moment my favorite movie is "Arrival" with Amy Addams and Jeremy Renner...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The one amazing thing I`ve done in my life is the one amazing thing I`m doing every day. I life.
That`s more a miracle to me than anything else because when was a baby my life threatened by a rupture and thanks to my grandma I survived.
I think that`s the greatest thing all human can do!
