About Me

I'm from Curitiba (south Brasil). I'm on Portugal studying Masters on Artistic Intervention and Animation.

Right now I'm working through homeoffice for a brazilian agency Agência Braising as graphic designer and illustrator. I have a degree on History, but right after its conclusion I started studying graphic design and illustration, cause that's what I really like. Even I do like History, working as an artist make me possible travel and work aboard without much trouble.

Sometimes I play the guitar and I read a lot while I'm travelling. You'll see I always carry my copies of On The Road and The Dharma Bums, both from Jack Kerouac, writing the name of every city I visit with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said, I'm on Portugal for studies. I do work form here to a brazilian agency, but since I have to pay for my rent and Masters 100% from my pocket, I don't travel here as I'd like.

So, I'm on couchsurfing looking for a better way to keep meeting new people and places without compromising my stay in here.

Besides, I've used a lot of AirBnb untill now - that's how I met the people that told me about couchsurfing. So I'm used to this dinamic of sleeping on families houses, talking to young couples while we eat the breakfast and make friends under their own roof. It's quite exciting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tanto Mar (by Chico Buarque) talks about the political scenario from Portugal and Brazil of mid-XX century - both under military dictatorships on that time. This song and Fado Tropical, also written by Chico, speak about this time and "saudade", a word in portuguese to describe the feeling of missing someone, a place, a time, with joy and melancholy at the same time.

Whe I think about favorite movies I always remember "Night Train to Lisboa", "On The Wild" and "Central do Brasil". All these movies talk about someone leaving its home trying to find something special - some of them its a "specific something", other not so much.

And books, well, they're On The Road, The Dharma Bums (Kerouac) and The Dark Tower (Stephen King).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my country alone to live and study on another continent is quite awesome. It's an everyday challenge. Hard, yes, but awesome too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk all night about brazilian history and today political scenario! Like, really, all night long.

Since not everybody like that kind of stuff and can get bored, I could teach some tips about drawing, illustration and graphic design. Oh, I play the guitar too: maybe people like some brazilian approach on music, even I'm not the quite the sambist, I really do love samba, rock and other popular music of Brazil.

Well, I like some "nerd" stuff too, like comics and movies to those who would like to share their experience on this area.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Books, music, pieces of art, histories and History. Oh, and beer. Always.
