Présentation
À propos de moi
I am from a small town and I've seen nearly every inch of it. I am a writer and I hobby around with photography and pyrograghy ... a little singing, too. I love people and find their individuality and personal, quirky natures very interesting and entertaining. I am a "live and let live" sort of person and love positive energy - being around other people who don't strain to smile. I've been married and now I'm not. I have two sons who own my heart and a family (and extended family) I am quite proud of. Mostly, I am antsy. I feel a strong ache to go and not be stationary. Always have since I was a child. I want to travel, meet new people, see new places and have new experiences.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
For the entire experience - new places and new faces.
Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I have a love of almost all music so choosing favorites doesn't come easy for me. Although, I think I was most impressed by a street performer in Ireland who played a harp like a dream. Movies? I like Sling Blade, King Arthur, Young Guns, Ever After, I am Legend, on and on and on... I always appreciate a good horror. I read a lot of Dean Koontz and Stephen King when time permits. I found "On Writing" to be very inspirational.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I talked a small boy, who was screaming in fear, into going on a boat ride with his family, at the lake, by handing him a simple gumball from the ground and telling him it was a magic gumball and it would protect him and keep him safe. I told him how to hold it and made sure he understood that he should keep it in his hand for the whole ride. I told him that it was "my" magic gumball and was very special to me, so he could only "borrow" it and I would need it back once he was done using it. He took it with such a look of trust and he braved that ride like a champion. Later, once it was over, he found me and gave it back to me as he'd promised. He'd squeezed it so hard that all the spikes were flattened. He thanked me with a hug and the proudest, most genuine smile. To me, that was amazing. I'd never realized, until then, how big of a difference such a small gesture, a soft voice and a little patience could make. I still have that magic gumball to this day.
