About Me

Heya there, my name is Ida Ellen, but people usually just call me Eli. I'm a BA student at Aarhus University, studying Business Communication in English and Spanish. Travelling is one of my big hobbies, which is why I am taking my very first Interrail trip this summer.
I can be a bit bookish at times, but I do love getting out to explore. Even Aarhus, the city that I am currently living in, has a lot of things that I haven't discovered yet. The unknown is a part of an adventure after all.
I live in a student dorm, so I'm unable to host anybody.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and meet new people, see new things and taste the places that I'm going, and frankly I think that's why couch surfing is so awesome! Getting to meet some locals and maybe sharing stories is something a dingy hotel would never be able to offer.
I'm usually travelling alone, so having someone to talk to once in a while is quite nice, so sleeping at a place where the host would like to chat for a bit is a big plus for couch surfing.
If I'm daring, I'd ask something only a local would know: where to go/see the city. Getting shown around would be awesome too, but it is absolutely not a requirement.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm kind of old school with regards to music, at least compared to peers my age. I really love the Bee Gees, ABBA, the Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers and a few local danish bands. Once the mood strikes, Backstreet Boys isn't bad at all either.

I'm not that big of a movie connaisseur, but I do have a weakness for the murder mystery genre.

I don't quite have a favourite book, but I am currently reading the bookk series Earth's Children by Jean M. Auel

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I lived in Costa Rica, I was invited to go crab hunting. We chased the crabs and caught them using sticks. Afterwards we made a wonderful soup out of them and ate the claws while it was stewing.

Teach, Learn, Share

On top of my head, the only thing I could teach people would be just how awesome the city of Aarhus is.
If I come up with something else, I'll update this segment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My stories of my previous travels, there's plenty of those.
I can share recipes that I've learned over the years, if that would interest anyone. My expertise is in danish cooking.
