Hello! My name is Kieran McClenahan, I am currently living in the United States off of five dollars a day for three months to raise money for people in rural Himalayan Nepal. I was very moved by the kindness of the people, the beauty of the landscape while I was there. While I have my tent and camping gear, and intend mainly on using those. Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing, because I am doing this trip on an extremely limited budget. I am hoping Couchsurfing will not only save me money, but make great connections with great people around the world. As well as share with my host a little bit of my own special Canadian culture.

I am a fan of all kinds of music, including Passenger, Ed Sheeran, Green Day, Of Monsters and Men, The Lumineers, Billy Joel, and many more! I also appreciate listening to music in other languages, even if I have no idea what is being said! My top four movies in no particular order are; Saving Private Ryan, Blood Diamond, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and the Star Wars Movies that did not suck. My favourite books are usually either travel and adventure books or historical fiction. A couple of good ones I have recently read are Hellequin and Into the Wild.

I don't know how pick just one thing! My recent trip to Japan is up there, and having students from Japan come back so I can show them around Vancouver. But the one thing that stands out that makes me feel amazing is a charity event that I am a part of called Motionball. This is a charity event for Special Olympics, where months of fundraising all come together, in a great day of sports with the participants and special athletes. This year I am a team captain, and putting together a team at my school. Couldn't be more excited! Enseña, aprende, comparte

There are so many things I have learned over the years which I would be more than happy to share with those I meet! I can teach you all about the sports of rugby, and Canada's own hockey and lacrosse. All of which I have played extensively. In fact if we can find a way I would be more than happy to do some skating lessons! I love history, I can teach you all about the history of my home nation Canada, I can play a little bit of guitar and show you that. All you need for most songs in the world is five chords! If you are interested I can teach the very little amount of French I know, as here in Canada every kid learns a little in school.

As for what I am interested in learning; anything and everything you have to offer! Your culture, what food you eat, your hobbies, anything! I love attempting to learn new languages, and immersing myself in new cultures.
