About Me
Hi, there! I'm a 45 year old US-born travel-loving human rights advocate, currently living in New York State, USA. I'm currently an academic success coach for college students, and an English teacher. I've also taught US work prep and life skills for refugees from all over the world, I've been a nanny, a veterinary technician, and professional home and pet sitter.
I love animals, learning about different cultures, all food (though I'm a vegetarian these days), the arts, science fiction, lots of genres of music and poetry, the mountains, the ocean, the forest, and social justice work. I'm told I make everyone feel loved and valued, and this is very important for me. I value dignity, respect, curiosity, empathy and conviction.
I've used airbnb a lot, and here is my profile so you can see my reviews!: https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/9999226

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couch surfing for several reasons! Good friends of mine have been both guests and hosts and have had really great things to say about their experiences, so they convinced me to check it out.
I love to travel and I prefer the most social options when traveling (like not sitting by myself in a hotel room). I've stayed in hostels in the US, Mexico, Germany and France and have always loved those experiences. I've made some great friends along the way, and I look forward to making more. Plus, I don't make big bucks as an English teacher so the price is right with couch surfing ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've saved the lives of some animals, and helped some people be more safe, stable and self-reliant along the way, too. I do what I can to make things better on this crazy planet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can do impromptu English lessons (and maybe even teach a little basic Spanish); offer health and training tips for your pets; can do life and academic coaching sessions; can tell some good stories; can sometimes do a little energy work; read your tarot cards; am happy to cook a healthy meal for you, and I'm a great hiking partner! I love to chat about books, movies, politics, psychology, you name it!
