About Me
Hello couchsurfers! I've been using CS for a while now, during my trips or whenever I want to meet somebody new...and I just love it!
I'm Maria Teresa, but everybody calls me Mate (pronounce it as the south american drink, not as mate, like travelmate). I'm a 22 years old italian girl, born and raised in Italy, currently living in Bordeaux, for my hospitality studies. I've lived also in China, when I was 16, as exchange student, for an entire academic year. And also in Florida, USA, for a gapyear and in Mexico for another year on an exchange year with my University.
People think I'm always happy since I'm always smiling and because of my contagious laugh.
I'm open-minded and super out going. I hate prejudices, love to socialize and to meet new people, and get enriched by every encounter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Unfortunately at the moment I can't host, but when I travel, I like to meet locals and I always need recommendations for where to go, what to do, where to eat, events going on and so on.
I would love to hang out with couch surfers to share our stories, adventures and ideas.
Interests
Traveling is always on top of all my lists:
What do you save money for? Traveling.
What are your interests? Traveling.
What do you like to do the most? Traveling.
And by travelling I mean exploring, eating special local food, meeting people from all over the world with different cultures, background, histories to tell, ideas to exchange.
I'm a super active person. I love everything that keeps my body moving and helps me stay in shape, strong and healthy. I love to stay in the nature, so I often do outdoors activities like hiking, trekking, running, orienteering, camping. I also love volley, swimming, and fitness in general. I love Latin dances (mainly salsa and bachata).
I'm a Scout since I was 7 years old, and I strongly believe in Scouting, especially after I took part in the Roverway hosted in France in 2016.
I volunteer whenever I have the chance, especially with kids, homeless, or in big events, as I did in Expo2015 in Milan.
Last but not least, I love cooking, especially baking. I'm such a sweet tooth, and I hate salt, so I use a lot of spices and herbs instead. I'm vegetarian and love healthy and fresh food.
