We are a happy and sociable married cupple from Kielce in Poland. In many respects, we differ, for instance - I am translator and language teacher, my husband Wojtek is engineer designing thermal engines. I am organized and orderly, my husband spontaneous and a bit distracted. Wojtek is a night animal, he can sit all night long by the fireplace talking with guests, I like to get up early in the morning to do the most things during the day. Wojtek enjoys drinking beer, I prefer wine :)
On the other hand, we have our common world. Wojtek plays the guitar and others more or less strange instruments, I play the piano. Wojtek is passionate about blacksmithing and he admires all handicrafts, I like drawing, painting and realizing various artistic ideas. Wojtek likes old, beautifully crafted items, wears a hat and smokes a pipe, he is actively interested in ancient steelworks, beekeeping and he is generally a bit retro, I'm passionate about the history of art (here you can see my facebook site about art: https://www.facebook.com/Archi-Art-169817483179717/). Wojtek has always liked to wander in meadows, forests and to go fishing, I love hiking, biking and mountain trekking. We are both sweeties devourers, we love animals and we listen to the poetry sung. We also have in commun some things that we don’t do - we don’t watch television and even don’t have any television set in our house, we don’t like to stay at home, we hate shopping centers, we don’t talk about politics and we don’t like to argue.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is an important part of our life. But traveling for us is not an organized trip with a travel agency where everything is scheduled from the first to last day; it's not an all inclusive apartment away from the natives and sightseeing in a group of all the crowded places described on the first pages of guides. Of course, we want always to see as much as possible. However, we prefer to choose the places ourselves, sometimes to be surprised, to discover some places where tourists don’t wander, and above all – to meet people. You can not fully know the place without approaching the people, because they shape the place, they are an integral part of it.
