Overview
About Me
Hi,
My name is Nuria and I am an easy-going and open-minded traveller, more interested in getting to know a place, its culture and local people than spending time shopping.
Originally from a remote village in the mountains of Spain, I now live and work in London. I also lived in Barcelona for ten years.
General interests: travel, ecology, diving and sports, reading, photography, cinema, food, music, arts and architecture.
Thanks for reading and hope to see you soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: rock, indie, ethnic music
Books: Les identités meurtrières (Amin Maalouf), The catcher in the rye (Salinger), The doctor (Noah Gordon), The hidden connections (Capra), The old man and the sea (Hemingway), 1984 (Orwell), El amor en los tiempos del cólera (García-Márquez), Oliver Twist (Dickens), El Quijote (Cervantes)... Recently I've been mostly reading business/behavioural economics/marketing related books.
Movies: Requiem for a Dream, 12 angry men, Mystic River, La Vita è Bella, Amélie, Good Will Hunting, Cidade de Déus, Into the Wild, Trainspotting, American History X, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Dead Man Walking, and any Tarantino film.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Anything underwater but probably the most special is diving with mantas while listening to humpback whales sing nearby in Mozambique.
Other: snowboarding in Iran, ballooning in Cappadocia, seeing Komodo dragons, sunrise in Borobudur, sunset in Malapascua, going by motorbike from London to Croatia and back, spending a night in the driest desert when it rained, kayaking in the Calanques de Cassis and travelling solo in Iran, Mexico, Argentina and Japan.
I also ran 2 half-marathons but I'm not really into it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages, cooking. I love learning new things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An open mind. Genuine interest in knowing more about their culture, their society and their lives. Hopefully some nice conversations and a new friendship... And if I find the ingredients, some cooking!
