About Me

Hello!
My name is Doug, and I'm currently on a solo trip around the world to find out more about myself, what the world has to offer, and to meet some great people (which I have done plenty of, but so keen for more)!!
If I had to describe myself in a few sentences, I would say I'm a polite, active and healthy young man who's willing to give new things a go. I have a relaxed, easy going persona, but I'm always up for a deep and meaningful conversation about any aspects of life! My interests lie heavily with sport, music, building relationships and learning anything there is to know about this big beautiful world and our place in it!
Back home in Canberra, Australia, I work as a classroom teacher, and have pretty much done so since I graduated at the end of 2015, until leaving for this solo world trip in late April.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not extend the possibilities of travelling to new places and meeting new people!?
I am currently travelling around the world I'm looking forward to going to some great places, meeting great people and sharing amazing stories about life and love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

Like I've said, I love to share life with people. I've enjoyed nothing more whilst travelling than getting stoked for others about the possibilities they've said yes to and benefited from it!
I seem to always learn something new each day, as I consider myself a bit of a sponge. But others seem to learn from me too, as we all learn from one another.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love hearing stories, and I love sharing stories; from what you were like as a kid, to your funniest moment, to what your aspirations for the future are!
I can play guitar and get some sing alongs going (if you have a guitar haha).
And share some great games from back home!
