About Me
Hi there!
I’m Victor, originally from a small town in the Brazilian countryside, currently living in Rio de Janeiro. I’m passionate about cultural exchange, connecting with people from all walks of life, and leaving a positive impact wherever I go.
I have a degree in Industrial Engineering and currently work in the investment management field. But beyond my career, I’m someone who truly values kindness, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences that open the heart and mind.
I would describe myself as responsible, open-minded, curious, and deeply respectful. I love getting to know different lifestyles and perspectives — and I genuinely enjoy making people feel heard, welcomed, and seen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first used Couchsurfing in 2017 during a trip to the U.S., and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. I was welcomed with such kindness and generosity that it completely changed the way I viewed travel — not just as exploring places, but connecting with people.
Now, as I plan to return to the U.S., I’d love to experience that again. For me, Couchsurfing is one of the most genuine ways to understand the culture and soul of a place — through the people who live it every day.
Interests
I’m passionate about people — their stories, their cultures, the things that move them. I love spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and being around children (they remind me to stay curious and playful). I’m also really into personal growth — whether that’s through meaningful conversations, new experiences, or diving into a great book.
I enjoy light cooking (especially when it means sharing a meal with others), and learning about how different communities live and solve their challenges. Music, language, and education are topics that light me up, and I’m always happy to learn something new.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Ariana Grande will always have my heart — I admire her voice and energy. I also recently discovered Dimash Kudaibergen and was absolutely blown away by his vocal range. Besides that, I enjoy music with Brazilian roots, especially sertanejo — artists like Marília Mendonça and Vitor &Leo are close to my heart for their emotional and poetic lyrics.
Movies/Series: I usually lean toward shows that make me laugh — Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Norbit — and action-packed movies like the Fast & Furious franchise. I also enjoy documentaries that explore social issues and biographies that dive into the lives of inspiring people.
Books: I like to read a bit of everything. From comic books like Turma da Mônica and Mafalda, to biographies like Becoming by Michelle Obama, to thought-provoking titles like Principles by Ray Dalio. I’m especially drawn to books that help me better understand myself and the people around me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Leaving my small hometown at the age of 14 to pursue better education opportunities was one of the biggest and bravest decisions I’ve ever made. It shaped who I am today — someone independent, resilient, and always eager to grow.
Also, helping a 13-year-old boy from my community improve his reading skills and self-confidence has been one of the most meaningful things I’ve done in recent years.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can teach Portuguese, some Brazilian cooking (brigadeiro included!), and share stories about my country and culture. I also love helping kids learn — whether it’s reading, math, or just discovering the joy of learning.
Learn: I want to learn more about different ways of life, how people see the world, and anything related to psychology, personal development, or education. And of course — new recipes, local customs, and languages!
Share: I’m always ready to share a good story, a warm smile, a homemade meal, and a curious heart. I believe in mutual learning and genuine connection.
