Hello everybody!
My name is Maciek and I come from Poland, which I consider the most beautiful country in the world (don't hesitate to visit it!). I am a power engineering student and I truly love my major. My mother university is in Cracow (Poland), however currently I'm studying at Shibaura University of Technology in Tokyo as an exchange student.
I am an open-minded and cheerful person, always enjoying a conversation about politics, religion or engineering stuff. I like meeting new people and hanging around. I have dozens of friends all over the world thanks to the exchange programs I took part in and I we still keep in touch. And that life-time friendships are very important for me, and I'm looking forward to make more of them!
Even though I'm still an undergraduate student, I have already done several internships. One of them was conducted in Brazil (Campinas) and I truly fell in love with that country (having done a bunch of sightseeing and met wonderful people). I have also visited the majority of European countries, it is my first time in Asia though.
I speak fluently English and Polish, and can easily communicate in German or Russian.
I am also a member of a students organization IAESTE, which purpose is to send students abroad on internships and receive foreigners. The organization have given me a broad experience in meeting new people, organizing their time and providing help whenever its needed. I have also organized events for foreign students coming to Cracow combining sightseeing the city and having fun throughout the city game.
I live in a students apartment with my friends (also students), however currently due to studies abroad my flat is unavailable for travelers.
Currently I'm planning to visit the most interesting points of Japan, which basically include Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka for now. I am travelling with my friend (male) who is also a polish student. We are both calm and approachable and would appreciate any help!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I really enjoy meeting interesting people and exchanging experience, and that's exactly what CouchSurfing offers. I consider that way of travelling the best in order to get to know different cultures deeply in a nice atmosphere. Of course the other point of Couchsurfing is to travel cheap, and I wont hide the fact that, having a student's budget in mind, I always look for the least expensive ways of travelling. Another thing is that I like showing my city to people coming from abroad and I'm always willing to hang around and have fun!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I enjoy listening to rock music (Linkin Park as an example) and pop (Michael Jackson). I also like Queen.
I am a big fan of Star Wars movies, since I grew up when the movies went out, but I enjoy watching any s-f or horror movies!
Despite the fact that I don't have that much time for reading books (my studies are pretty much demanding) I like space operas and LotR trylogy.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

The most amazing thing I have done in my life was finding a way after getting lost on an Argentina and Brazil border. Having visited one of the Argentina's national park we were heading back to Brazil. However we missed the last bus (and took the wrong one before!) and it was getting dark, not to mention the lack of Argentina's currency (pesos) and inability to speak Spanish at all. At the end, after few hours of struggling, we found a way out and arrived safely to my friend's house. I will never forget how scared I was though!

I am always willing to share experience about my country as well as the countries I have visited so far. I believe that sightseeing is a must when you visit Cracow, and I can assure you I know a bunch of interesting information about the city. I can also help in any trouble on coming to Poland.
I would appreciate anyone who can share his experience about the place he lives in, since I love doing sightseeing in a right way in order to see and visit as much as possible.

I can share the experience about polish culture, cuisine, history and religion. I should also add that I brought a small traditional polish vodka (very tasty!) and I look forward for you guys to try it!
