I'm Mónica from Portugal!

I used to study Tourism in college and that was my first contact with couchsurfing as we used to host some surfers at our big and old house. The people I met gave me the first taste of travelling and since then I've been doing what I can to do it.

I finish my last year of college with an exchange in Wroclaw, Poland. It was my first experience living abroad and I just loved it! I met tones of great people, travelled a lot through Europe which just helped the little travelling bug to grow inside me; so as a student with no money and a huge will to go out and explore the world I became a flight attendent.
With the new job I moved to Dubai and travelled the globe for two years; met loads of people and became acquainted with diferent cultures and life styles. It was a great experience but I wanted to have more time on the ground and do my travels in a slower way.

Currently I'm living in Belo Horizonte, Brazil doing an intership in a tour operator. It's been a good experience but I realized that an office job is not what I'm looking for so I decided that in September I'm gonna start a new chapter.

I will travel through South America with no return ticket or due date. I wanna meet new people and hopefully find something that I truly enjoy doing.

I'm a nature lover, a animal lover, a super social being that loves to learn new things, engage in new challenges and get to know people and their fascinating stories.
With couchsurfing I hope to get a more local perspective on the place and have a productive cultural exchange 😃

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great tool to get to know the locals and all the idem gems of their hometowns.
In my next travels I want to connect more with the place and not only visiting the main turist attractions so I think this is a great way to do it.

Skydiving, shark diving, climbing Etna in Sicily with sandals (stupid but I made it ahahah)

I can teach english, spanish and portuguese.
I would like to lear some eco friendly activities like permaculture, gardening/farming and also yoga, surf and skate or any outdoor activities.
