My name is Abi and I'm currently studying to become an electrical engineer. I just returned from a year-long internship in Switzerland and I'm excited to keep travelling and adventuring. During my year in Switzerland, I tried travelling every weekend so I now have a fine collection of postcards and wonderful memories!

This July, I'll be travelling across Canada with one of my best friends by train to celebrate Canada's big 150! We're very excited to see our beautiful country and to meet all the amazing Canadians that live here!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried couchsurfing with my friend for the first time in Dublin and I had an amazing experience. The couchsurfing community is filled with kindhearted, adventurous people that all have amazing stories to tell and I think it would be lovely to meet new people while travelling!

Music: I like acoustic and indie music. I love Hozier, Justin Nozuka (older stuff), Kodaline, Andrew Belle, Allen Stone, The Summer Set, Parachute, HONNE, Andrew Bird, Ed Sheeran, JP Cooper, The Lumineers, Jaymes Young, The Dancing Years, and Gabrielle Aplin (to name a few)

Movies: I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE Disney (I collect Disney plush). My favourite Disney movies are Treasure Planet, Lilo and Stitch, and Atlantis. I also have a special place in my heart for The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Also a fan of Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, The Mummy, and Star Wars. The Princess Bride is a classic. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty spoke to my soul. Stardust was also really good.

Books: I loved Harry Potter, The Little Prince and It's Kind Of A Funny Story. (I plan to read more)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Switzerland (a country I had never been to) alone to work for a year. It was an amazing experience! I got to travel all over Europe and meet people from all over the world! I did a surf camp in Portugal, took a Romanian night train to get to Dracula's Castle, saw Venice during Carnival season and marveled at the Cliffs of Moher (to name a few of the amazing experiences I had). It was an adventure for the ages!
