Overview
About Me
I am from a small rural community in New Zealand where I live on our dairy farm with my husband and son. I have a seasonal job with a dairy genetic company in New Zealand and have been fortunate to come to the UK with the company for short term work for the past 3 years. So taking the opportunity to do a little travelling and exploring while over this side of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We have hosted a lot of travellers on working holidays, which is interesting and enjoyable, a great way to learn about different countries and cultures, make new friends, and give travellers a 'bit of 'home' and local knowledge, not just the touristy things.
When travelling I don't want to be just another tourist with the crowds, in hostels and hotels. I want to meet the locals. In the past some of the unexpected and best travel experiences we've had have been through meeting locals. We've met some wonderful people, been able to get the inside knowledge on what are the best things to do no see, and gain some insight into real life. I see couch surfing as a way of being able to do that.
