About Me
Hi! My name is Svetlana.
I’m a creative person and I really love real, heartfelt travel — not about collecting places, but about feelings, people, and those little moments that stay with you. Right now I’m growing my travel blog and learning to trust life a bit more and say “yes” to it.
I’m currently in a pretty interesting stage of my life. About two months ago I left my job, packed the most important things into one suitcase and just left — no clear plan, just a feeling that I needed this.
My Schengen visa is short, so I’m moving slowly, exploring different countries in Europe and trying to spend more time in warm places by the sea, that’s where I feel the most like myself.
Recently I’ve been in Italy again, and also spent some time in Switzerland, Germany and the Czech Republic. Now I’m heading to the south of Spain for about three weeks. I want to experience Andalusia through people, not as a typical tourist.
I’m originally from the south of Russia, but I spent the last 8 years living in Moscow. And only now I’m really starting to notice that I feel much closer to warm, open, a bit chaotic and very lively places with lots of emotions, communication and sun.
I think this journey is also about understanding where I’d like to stay a bit longer in the future. I have a strong feeling that I need to be somewhere near the sea and mountains. For now, I’m just exploring and feeling into it. Maybe it will be southern Spain. I’m curious to find out.
What I really love about Couchsurfing is that it’s all about people. Conversations in the kitchen, sharing a meal, that feeling when you’re not just visiting a country, but somehow stepping a little into someone’s life.
I love wandering without a plan, getting lost in small streets, watching how the city wakes up in the morning, talking to strangers and laughing together. I sing, I draw a little, and I love street food. Sometimes I’m very social and full of energy, and sometimes I just want quiet time and to watch the sunset — and I’m comfortable with both.
As a guest, I try to be easygoing and respectful: I care about personal space, I feel the atmosphere of the home, and I don’t create tension. It’s important to me that everyone feels comfortable.
I love sharing stories, I can cook something, and if the mood is right maybe even sing a little.
Or just have a calm, quiet evening — simple and human.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, traveling is first of all about people.
I’m always curious about everyday life in different places: how mornings feel, what people talk about, their habits, little details, the overall vibe.
Couchsurfing gives a chance to see real life, not just the tourist version — and that’s the most valuable part for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: anything that touches my heart or makes me want to dance, from indie and soul to jazz and pop.
Movies: travel stories, light comedies and films that make me want to live more brightly.
Books: non-fiction, biographies, real stories and travel writing. I also love detective novels. Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite characters.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably the most important thing is that I finally listened to myself.
For a long time I kept postponing traveling, always finding reasons to wait.
And then one day I just packed my things and left.
Now it feels like the beginning of something new. I don’t fully know where it will take me — and I actually like that.
I want to try things, learn, create, meet people and just live a bit more honestly and freely.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy cooking and would be happy to cook something together or for you.
But more than anything, I bring simple things — gratitude, attention and kindness.
I understand what it means to open your home to someone, and I truly appreciate it.
