About Me

My name is André Kallehave Grendslev, and currently I am travelling throughout South -and North America on one of those infamous "Gap-Years". I would love to supplement the trip itself, with great company wherever I may roam.

I am quite the quiet type by nature, I am not gonna lie about that one. I am the kind of person that enjoys silence every once in a while, while not exactly been a pioneer of small talk - I would say that i evolve to the exact opposite of that as I get to know new people; I just rarely see the point of small talking - great conversations come afterwards.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to meet new people - exchange something. Ideas, stories, knowledge etc. I am alway interested in learning something new - and perhaps even get confronted with what the reality of something is, compared to my idea of it. That is when an exchange gets real interesting for me personally.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pretty much everything across the diffrent genres; I would say that I am extremely open-minded when it comes to music, but my favourite genres would be: Folk, Blues, Jazz, Soul and Rock. I am a huge fan of live music, and it is probably one of the greatest things ever, in my opinion.

I play a variety of instruments myself, though mainly guitar, and I love to jam around with others when the opportunity is there.

Some of my all time favourite musicians and bands would be: Bruce Springsteen, U2, Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Neil Young, Oasis, John Mayer, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel and many others.

Movies: I am not that much of a spontaneous movie guy - I love watching a movies, but I have to feel a hype, or having looked into that particular movie; I don't just pick a random one, never. Also I enjoy watching movies that are not just too cliché, but rather something orignial or edgy, something diffrent - though Blockbusters also will do the trick for me.

When it comes to television, "The Office" is my favourite series - and I enjoy political satire such as "Last Week Tonight" or "The Daily Show". - something where episodes are quite short - My patience does not comprehend the longer HBO series; besides "True Detective".

Books: I have tried to read so-called "Bucket list books" on my travels, and I am currently working on "Catcher in the Rye"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done? Hmm… Roskilde Festival 2016 in Denmark was a truly amazing experience - simply a place where social bonds, amazing live music and true happy spirit just comes together as one, as cliché as that might sound.

Just to add another one, I managed to play in a jazz band for 3 years throughout High School, without ever really practicing along with my friends. I was a beginner guitarist thrown into jazz chords, thats something. It was really just for the parties, and I am sure that this particular band most likely was a true horror for every audience involved.
