About Me
-NOTE: Unfortunately I cannot host you in Edinburgh, as I am now living in Germany:) But if you want some recommendations I can maybe help you, since I'm there from time to time.
Hey there! I'm Anna-Maria.
In the summer of 2017, I had the amazing experience of travelling around Italy, and I was so grateful to have had some awesome couchsurfing hosts, which is why I love this community!
I got to Australia in December 2018, and spent 1 year there, after spending 10 weeks volunteering in Nepal (one of the greatest experiences). I've since travelled through Vietnam, ended up living in Thailand much longer than expected (how lucky I was!) and have been living in Germany since the beginning of 2022.
I consider myself a calm, friendly, and adventurous person, and I love being outdoors, music (playing a few instruments and singing), art, making videos, cooking vegan food, learning about/practicing meditation and yoga, and connecting with new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I know it's a great way of meeting both local and international people, as well as having somewhere to stay for a night or two when I am new to a country. I like the idea of gaining others' perspectives on their home areas, life in general, and getting tips on where to go and what to do.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is actually quite a hard box to fill, as my favourite things change quite often (I suppose this happens to everyone).
So in an attempt to give you something, I'll tell you who I'm loving at the moment/have loved for a while:
Jungle, Dijon, Dominic Fike, Rodrigo Amarante, Trio Mandili, and the general categories of Indian electronic/flamenco/funk haha.
I love finding second-hand copies of books, and doing book exchanges, so let me know if you are into that!
And about movies (also music and books), well, we'll just have to talk about that, there are so many!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteering in the Gorkha region of Nepal was amazing! We did a 19-day trek through the Ruby Valley and had the honour of seeing the distant Himalayas in the sunset.
Teach, Learn, Share
Maybe if you have some instruments or you play music/sing we could have a jam session! I'm also interested in learning more German (and beginning Spanish), cooking (I'd love to share and exchange foods/recipes), capturing good videos and photos, and going on long walks, so if you're into anything like that it would be great to talk to you:)
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you are into music, I can maybe play/sing a few songs for you (I will undoubtedly get shy, but a guitar/piano helps). I can cook you some vegan food, have some deep conversations, share a lot of laughter and funny stories, and I am willing to learn anything new, tell you about my journey so far, and hear your own :).
