24 yo hitchhiking couple from Austria, chocolate and pasta addicts, easygoing and always ready to get to know new people and learn new things. Trying to get as many smiling wrinkles as possible. Our life goal is to visit countries all over the world in order to find a perfect place for a second home and to be able to tell our future kids the craziest stories. We try to flee from the modern materialism-based society and live most of the time out of our backpacks and just came back from a 2-year hitchhiking journey around the world. We have hitched over 150k in our lives with a recent highlight of sailing across the Atlantic and around the Carribean. We'd be glad to introduce you to our world of travelling with little money where we spend around 100$ per month all included and would like to destroy the misconception that long term travelling is only for the rich!

What might be important to mention in advance is that we’re busy with sports, don’t drink, don’t party, don’t eat meat and are rather introverted, so if you’re here to hit the clubs or need a babysitter, we’re probably the wrong hosts:)

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

we want to get to know new people and their local perspective and way of life and try to capture these moments with newly made friends, to show our people at home how hospitable and friendly people all over the world are. Couchsurfing is a huge part of our travel lifestyle and the sheer amount of people we got to meet, experiences we made, lessons we learnt and homes we saw is just mind-blowing and almost addictive! Now we’re back home for a while and are happy to pay back some hospitality!

Berni hitchhiked through 4 continents before turning 21, became a paramedic and then spent 3 years in the Austrian Alpine Special Forces

Alex finished her bachelors in Environmental Ressource Management which let her live in South Africa and Finland for 6 months each and is about to start projects to facilitate water accessibility in Africa

Together we hitchhiked for 2 years around the world and met the most incredible people

We’re also very much into learning new languages as it’s such an integral part of travelling. So we’d love to get a little language lesson to learn some basics and can give you one in return!:)
