My name is Shaun & I'm 23 years old.

Meeting new people is my way of life. That's the core reason why I join Couchsurfing. I've a dream of back-packing around the world, and meet amazing people along the way. I think this is a fun way of connecting with the natives and who knows I'll meet liked-minded friends that will last me a lifetime. Having said that, I hope that through this website I'll gain new experiences and insights to make my journey around the world as smooth as possible.

I believe that simplicity is the joy of life. Simple things make me happy, be it just a peaceful walk in the park, a casual conversation with a friend, or taking a window-shopping at an upscale district. I don't need to take an extravagant trip in a luxurious plane to make me feel happy, or a $350-buffet to keep my spirit up. (Another point to note about me: I feel that the most important thing about travelling is NOT about the places, but the quality companionship that you gain during our back-packing journey)

People who hang out with me often describe me as being chatty and easy-going. I agree with them mainly because I love to share my experiences and amusing anecdotes with my friends and family. And of course, being someone who doesn't get fussy over trivialities, I tend not to hold grudges against anybody.

On top of that, I'm someone who can show empathy towards others. There's a famous quotes that strike a chord with me, which is to treat people the way you want to be treated. This quote has taught me how to put myself in the shoes of another people & think from their perspectives. And this value has served me well throughout my life.

Sports and adventures run in my blood, because every single time I get the opportunity to participate in a physical activity I'll go ALL OUT for it. I've deep interests in snow-skiing, operating a boat, kayaking, swimming, driving and exploring around foreign places. As long as I'm still young and active, I'll continue to pursue my interest in these activities.
