About Me

Hej, I'm Oli, long-term student, coffee drinker and cat type. I just finished my studies in Philosophy & Economics in Germany with included stays in Munich, Frankfurt and Indonesia - I like getting around. After school I spend some time in Hamburg to do civil service in an hospital, afterwards I worked in an hotel on an North Sea island before I started studying.
Ever since I lived in shared flats since I like having people around, someone to chat, cook, drink a glass of vine or party. Or to do sports which I really like. Most of all Snowboarding and Surfing, but due to limited budget I mostly go for a run, swim, a Volleyball match or something else outdoors. I'm also a big fan of music (and festivals), mostly electronic, but not exclusively, I also like 'real' music with vocals and instruments. Since I'm interested in all kinds of things I do read a lot (or try to), novels, scientific literature, articles, online stuff.... that's how I kill time.
Me: my friends sometimes describe me as really active and open (minded). However I consider myself as rather relaxed. I like to have a plan and be prepared but that doesn't mean that plans never change. Discussions can get deep sometimes (probably bc. I studied philosophy), but usually chats are cheerful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sorry for this but: it's simply efficient! People who travel on budget want to collect moments, not fancy hotel rooms. Moments are best when you experience them with others (my findings). Crushing a couch and meet people of the referring metropole is the best thing to do I think. You can get honest perspectives to the destination, tipps where to eat, maybe go out to party with the hosts. I'm still in touch with two guys who slept at my couch three years ago so, -sometimes you even meet friends.
