QUICK NOTE FOR HOSTS
I have hosted many people on different platforms and surfed at many places, my CS experience goes beyond what you read here on this profile. I understand how you feel as a host if you only keep hosting and don't receive anything in return. The IMPORTANT thing as a host is to share what you have with a stranger (not to have an extra job because you are hosting) share information and guide them, if you are happy keeping company then spend time, a traveler will have a schedule route plan, see what you can while they cross your city.

You dont need to babysit me as i'm well organized and know to look after my self and take care of the people who host me.
So even if you have a busy schedule or tired of hosting , the important thing is to clearly communicate what TO-Do and what NOT-TO-DO.
I enjoy the company of people so i dont get bored talking, but if you want me to be on my own and do some help for you in anyway i would be up for anything.

Sri Lanka is going through a tough time and the recovery would take years but its safer to travel and more travelers visiting means more $$$ coming in which would revive the economy, you can be part of it as you decide to spend your holiday in Sri Lanka.

I understand all sort of people are here on couch surfing and the original spirit of what CS was in earlier days is not anymore there.
I tend to not leave a bad reference unless it's most required but I would always share my honest opinion and you are welcome to do the same, because there is a chance for correcting and improving our mistakes.
Someone posted a negative reference on my profile whom I have never met nor accepted the request for hosting nor claimed money for anything. I did say Maybe possible to host but didnt communicate after the first message but forgot to cancel the hosting request. She has written a GENERAL comment, "all people in Pokhara stop replying or ask for money" i was surprised by her comments to write a general review on someone's profile. This person claimed to travel with another partner and sent me a last minute request saying we need a host urgent, after my initial communication I didnt see the purpose of accepting them. I have been careful on accepting people after that who consider its Hosts' obligation towards them specially who dont have any references. I am a very experienced couch surfer, have hosted and surfed with many people beyond what you read here.

QUICK NOTE FOR SURFERS

I don't need a lengthy message when sending request for hosting & I don't expect you to read all my profile, A simple line of message is good enough but your profile has to have enough information for me to make a decision when requesting for hosting,

I also love to spend time with new couch surfers, so please leave me a note without hesitation to meet & spend time. I would like to read why you are on CS if you are a beginner.

ABOUT COUCH SURFING

Couch surfing is a network of people who have the same spirit of sharing & Caring, there is no end to stop host or surf, you don't get tired because you get inspired by people, this site is not for everyone & I don't encourage all to join or try it, if you are a one time user better not write to me. I understand CS has changed over the years and lost its founding touch & love but we are in the modern age & it's our duty to make it work.

I prefer the nature of the exchange that makes me feel like I’m part of a global community of people looking for meaningful travel experiences outside the mainstream, capitalist economy.

I want to make CS a real time experience for those who understand the use of CS,
its a nice concept if its understood and exercised by both parties. I do love to host and also experience the CS network while travelling not just to find a place to sleep but love the concept of SHARING and LEARNING, keeping company of the other.
