Hello, world and Couchsurfing users!

My name is Vlad. I was born in the southern part of Russia (yes, there are places in Russia without snow and bears!), but I lived for a long time in the cultural capital, Saint Petersburg. After getting my degree and surviving the pandemic, I decided to travel, and my first destination was the island of Bali in Indonesia, where I lived for seven months enjoying the paradise scenery. After that, I lived in Thailand, and just recently I returned from Argentina, where I spent six months (winter/spring 2024).

I work in advertising, my blog, and organize techno festivals in Russia, which attract between 7,000 and 10,000 attendees. I am passionate about music and always excited to meet new people. I'm new to Couchsurfing, but I'm eager to immerse myself in the culture and daily life of the locals, sharing stories and experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For many years, I volunteered at a center for children with mental disabilities and Down syndrome, and I also worked with the homeless. Among my remarkable experiences was spending several weeks at a Vipassana center in Bali. It was a unique experience where, for several weeks, I didn’t speak, didn’t use my phone, and focused entirely on my sensations through meditation. In the summer of 2024, I went to the Himalayas and lived in a Buddhist monastery for several weeks, studying Buddhism.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the basics of DJing, how to organize events, and share tips on advertising and blogging. I can also show you how to cook traditional Russian dishes and help with learning basic Russian phrases.
