Overview
About Me
My husband and I have been married for over 5 years now. We love to adventure and travel together, meet new people, and take in the worlds natural beauty together. We met in college at Corban University and got hired shortly after, myself as a kindergarten teacher and Mark, my husband a youth pastor at our church here in salem. We love Jesus above all else but close to follow are coffee, good food, hiking, finding rivers to swim and fish in, thrifting, the office, and seeing new places. We also have a newborn daughter we are excited to begin traveling with! Our second child is our sweet cat Francine who loves meeting new people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are on couchsurfing because we love to travel and experience the authentic culture wherever we are and we believe this would be a fun way to experience where we are and the people there in a more natural way. We are also excited about being able to host people who may be traveling in our area! We love traveling but we know how expensive it can be, especially for younger people who want to gain those experiences in their youth but maybe aren't established financially yet. We are excited to provide a free place to stay if you're ever visiting the capitol of the beautiful state of Oregon
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My husband and I went on a summer road trip last summer visiting over 10 states. We had no agenda, and this trip may or may not have included sleeping in a Walmart parking lot, in a gravel driveway, and getting poop in our rental car. We spent on night in a $4 dollar campsite in Colorado and slept under the most stars we've ever seen in our life. These are memories we will hold onto forever and definitely one of our favorite trips.
Teach, Learn, Share
In all of our traveling experiences we always come back with the same mutual feeling that we LOVE Oregon being our home. Oregon has so much beauty to see and taste including the Columbia Gorge and all the amazing hikes that come with it (this one of our favorite weekend destinations), Oregon beaches may be cold but they're like none other, the best coffee (in my opinion) you'll ever sip, weird donuts and ice cream, and so much more. If your staying with us we would love to give you tips and pointers on where to go and what to see and if possible even take you places.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We have lots of space to host! A spare room and an upstairs floor that has a futon and lots of space for blow up mattresses! We could host one or a whole family! love cooking and baking so if we're home we would love to have you join us in a meal. We are busy people but if we are available and your interested in having your host tour you we would love that!
