I live in Istanbul at Turkey. I can give you a some advice. Istanbul is very crowded and big city( we called this city is never sleep). I am living at asia side. Asia side's is littele bit quiet to europe side. You can travel to Sultan Ahmet, Hagia Sofia, Yerebatan cistern, Istiklal street (at this place you can drink coffe or beer there is a small and cute coffe shop in there), Galata tower, Topkapi Place(if you go this place you need to spend a hole day) this all place is belong europe side. In asia side Kadiköy is my favorite place you can go the Marmara Islans's (Buyuk Island is bigger island you can visit to Aya Yorgi Curch and you shold hire a bike). Caddebostan seaside is beatuful for watch sun down at the same time you should sit the grass after that you can walk Bagdat Street and eat dinner with your friends.
