About Me

Hello, My name is Poyraz and I love the concept of world/internet citizenship. I am University student at MEF University in Turkey studying Industrial Engineer but I am also prone to Computer Engineering as well. I love good music and good food. What most interests me about food is cooking with friend and family. I even tried to be a vegetarian for a while but it wasn't a success story. Even though I am just a beginner I love the feeling when you schronyzingly cook the meal while maybe listening music and even singing. Even though I am not really a good with art I can certainly enjoy good paintings and well-crafted statues. I am a history buff. But sadly my European, African, Native American history knowledge is limited. I love exchanging cultures. I had many friends around the world before because of my age I wasn't able to communicate properly before. Now that is out of the way I like to make a friend network that extends the world, at least one in every country. Even for the time, I do not have my own place in İstanbul when I have a place I would love to be a host as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I came to Germany to learn German for the month. But I would love to visit other places as well. Since I am in Düesseldorf right know I am close Holland and France. I had a credit card problem so I wasn't able book any place. But when my plan for the travel was sinking a friend of mine had advised me to use couch surfing. She said she had tried and loved it. Plus it is much more logical for me to be able to get advice from someone knows the city because I am traveling alone. I could get sometimes pretty lonely.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie right now would be "Sunset limited". I love the acting in the film and the topic and how they handle it. For a Turkish movie would be "Kaybedenler Kulübü". But probably the most movie I watched was 3 idiots. Even though I watched it several times I can always cheer me up.

My favorite book is definitely Robinson Crusoe just because it was the first roman that I have read. I just captıred me so much even today time to time I think what would I do if I am left in a situation like this. But I am not a fan of the TV series "Lost" :D .

I love almost every type of music. I can not pick a thing.

Best show is Scherlock ( at least for me :D)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Haha, it is hard to tell when asked like this. But I could say when I was 13 years old I had turne with my Folklor Dance group from Istanbul to Porto and we stop almost every city on the way. Sometimes even bend the route to include other cities. I was by myself. No family or anything. That was the starting point of mine cultural cravings. It took 5 days to get to Porto. We stayed 5 days there and 5 days to come back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a liitle bit a computer programing. (C, HTML, CSS) Even though I haven't actually created any real program. I know a little bit of cooking but just a starter. I was a dancer for a period of 10 years. And my swimming was pretty good even though I am rusty right now. I can speak 2 languages. Learning another one. I have worked in electrical store before so I am familiar with screwing and hand work.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I try to be very friendly and polite. I am extremely open minded. I do not think I have taboos. So I believe I can held a pretty good conversation. I can cook. I can help with the house staff like taking trash. I am mostly tidy and travel with little things.
