Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Aleksi, I'm a university student from Finland, and I'm addicted. To specify, I've been a dromomaniac ever since I was bitten by the travel bug on my backpacking trip in Southeast Asia. Pathological wanderlust gnaws me relentlessly day after day when not being able to depart on a new journey. Couchsurfing alleviates the symptoms by offering peer support. Besides my insatiable appetite for traveling, I'm interested in studying the history of marvelous countries and cultures, mastering exotic languages, savoury recipes and exploring stunning natural wonders. I'm also excited about sports; football, cycling, orienteering, you name it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Getting acquainted with people from various cultures, hearing some intriguing stories as well as exchanging opinions and ideas with them is a true pleasure. I think a country is best experienced with the natives who have a broad knowledge of the most amazing places and things to do. For that purpose, couchsurfing is a great alternative. Moreover, I am willing to share with other people some of the hospitality that I have received during my travels, regardless of their country of origin, gender, age, or whatever.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: anything goes.
Movies: my favourites include Into the wild, The Shawshank Redemption, The Lost City of Z, The Revenant and Forrest Gump.
Books: I'm reading a lot of stuff when I'm studying, causing some disinterest in reading, so not too many books to mention here. "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari is a stunning and thought-provoking book that should be mandatory to read in schools all over the world. Besides, the sequel "Homo Deus" was excellent. I also enjoy reading autobiographies and those of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Barack Obama deserve commendations.
