Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I see couchsurfing as one way to open up the possibilities for movement to more people. It's also a cool way to break down that whole boring and sort of entitled culture of hostel hopping, and open up opportunities for travelers to interact directly with people from the places they visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like realist fiction and don't generally enjoy reading full books that are non-fiction. There are a bunch of authors who shaped the way I think- Leslie Marmon Silko, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Randa Jarrar, Gabriel García Márquez, Marie Vieux Chauvet, to name a few.
I like a lot of different music for a lot of different reasons. Same goes for movies, though lately I've been into Federico Fellini.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not into thinking of myself as a person who does amazing things. I have a lot of goals that might seem far-fetched, but I work on them every day and I love the feeling of developing skills. My progress in the things I care about is something I'm proud of.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food! I'm a very experimental cook, and I've learned a lot from different people I've met. I'm happy to cook something delicious for hosts. I'm sure there are other things I can share too, depending on what a host's interests are.
