I grew up on Mount Desert Island, a large island off the coast of Maine and the home of Acadia National Park. I am a recent high school graduate and am currently taking a gap year before attending Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. I decided to homeschool myself throughout my last three years of high school, during which I took classes at College of the Atlantic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great way to meet local people and make friends and I plan on using it during my travels this winter to Southeast Asia and New Zealand.

I have a broad taste in music, from alternative, to rap, to folk.

I enjoy historical fiction and non-fiction in the science and social science genres. A few favorites include "The Glass Palace" by Amitav Ghosh, "The Last Empty Places" by Peter Stark, and "Cod" by Mark Kurlansky.
