Overview
About Me
I LIKE ADVENTURE! I'm a waterscout (Scouting Nederland, Norvicus Noordwijk), I like sailing, and I'm learning a lot about the technical side of boats thanks to Ralph Caspers (also on couchsurfing)! Also really enjoy teaching children how to be a waterscout, and all the other make-shift things we come up with.
I have been working as a waitress since I was 15, starting off as a dishwasher ofcourse. I love working, because I get to talk to so many different people, from all walks of life (the place I work has quite a lot of tourism).
I'm a creative person, I'd rather spend some time and put in some effort to make something myself than going to the store and just buying it. Most of my clothing is from thriftshops, or I've added stuff/remade it. It takes a little more time to find clothing I like that way, but it's just more fun!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really like making new friends and meeting new people, hence why I decided to go backpacking. And I just need a place to stay, and what better way to combine those two than Couchsurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books
The genre of music that I like it pretty diverse. I LOVE hardstyle/hardcore, but what I've liked since I was 15 is metal and old school rock. Think of bands like Iron Maiden, Slipknot, KoRn, etc. There's not really anything that I dislike, as long a music is well-made and has some sort of meaning in this world.
I've studied film for 1 year, so I really like film and the different sorts there are. Tarantino is in my opinion the BEST filmmaker, because of his ability to create dialog that doesn't sound like it's fake, or just there to explain things to the viewer. I like psychological thrillers, fantasy and things like Downton Abbey.
I used to read a lot, right now I don't really read anymore, but if someone really recommends a book I'm always willing to give it a go.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I've not done yet: backpack in the U.S. The 7th of November I will be arriving in San Francisco, the start of my 3-month-long backpacking trip. That will be the first time I go backpacking alone, and I couldn't be more exited.
What I have done is: backpack in Italy for 1 week, together with a friend. We travelled from one place to another by train, not planning ahead for more that 1 day. I absolutely loved that way of travelling, and that is what pushed me to start the upcoming trip.
