About Me

I am a friendly human from the tiny island of Singapore! I grew up in Malaysia, and I've studied in Singapore for almost half of my life! I'm a nature lover; I love scuba diving (and pretty much a geek about the marine creatures such as nudibranchs, sharks etc), hiking and playing frisbee. Ask me more about environmental-related stuff and I can share a whole bunch of perspectives on our amazing mother nature and also the woes related to environmental problems. Other than that, I am currently trying to learn cooking and i'd say that I am pretty successful at doing so! x) I'd love to explore the world, especially nature places, and maybe try out solo traveling!

I’m an introvert, but I’m pretty cool with holding one-to-one or small group conversations ;) I'm a pretty independent individual, considering I've stayed in school hostels apart from my parents since thirteen, and that too will be an interesting story to share :)

I am an undergraduate from Singapore, currently on exchange at the University of St Andrews, Scotland! I’d love to travel around UK/Europe! Unfortunately, I have just moved out of St Andrews and is currently in transition period between leaving Europe and moving back to Singapore thus I am unable to provide an accommodation, but I'd love to meet up! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music/Musicals
Les Miserables, I can memorise almost all the songs, yet I have not had the chance to watch the actual musical. Disney films are magical and the songs are amazing (though it is pretty unrealistic) :P
I was part of a symphonic band in school so I love listening to symphony pieces (be it modern or classical), Chinese pop songs, Japanese songs, piano pieces and so on!

Movies
I'm not so much of a movie lover but I enjoy watching animes and reading mangas such as Gakuen Alice, Sword Art Online, Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn and many others (usually Slice-of-Life genre more than shounen).

Books
Being the geek that I am, I love reading environment and biology-related books such as evolution.
Currently reading: Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been living away from my family since 13 (and I grew up fine, no worries!)
Diving in Malaysia and Indonesia, and hopefully in many more places when my budget allows!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not a natural-born teacher but I'm more than willing to share my experiences with you and of course provide a company :)

Cooking: I've been learning to cook for the past half a year and I'm willing to try new recipes and ingredients! I'm more than willing to share Chinese cooking and dessert with you too (if I am able to source the ingredients).

Environmental ideas: Being an environmental studies student, I have my perspective on environmental-related issues which I'd love to share such as sea level rise, renewable energy and also more theoretical stuff such as evolution! I can share my diving, exploring and volunteering experiences with you too :)

Language: I am currently trying to learn Japanese so i'd be more than happy to hone my rusty Japanese with you! Other than that, I can speak fluent Chinese and English, and some Malay.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My Asian cooking as well as some recipes that I have learnt while being on exchange in Scotland! And a free accommodation in St Andrews in return (as well as a tour around Singapore when I return home :P)

My experiences traveling around Asia and Europe, and offer tips and advises to those who are going around the area :) my ideas, dreams and I'd love to listen to yours too!

Most importantly, a company that you'd hopefully enjoy :P
