About Me

Hi there :) I'm Floortje, 24 year old Architecture student. I'm a kind and easygoing person, always very interested to learn from others. In my studies I am combining architectural design and politics, so I'm always up for a good conversation about many different topics.
I like traveling, but when I do I really prefer to stay in the same place for a longer amount of time, so that you really can understand a city. Last year I've lived in Chicago for two months as part of my studies and this has been an amazing experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe much more in a world based on sharing rather then money, so couchsurfing is the place to be. We can all help each other get around in new places and meet like-minded souls and opening your home seems the perfect way to connect.
Currently I am undertaking a two week trip to New Orleans for my graduation project to research the effects of climate change and the changing coastal landscape of Louisiana. It would be great if you could help me out. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I recently been to the concerts of London Grammar and Benjamin Clementine. Both were absolutely amazing. Other than that my favorite band is Warpaint.
I read a lot of books, a large part dedicated to architectural theory and practise or politics. Other than that I like to read novels mostly by American authors, some I've recently finished are Catch-22, We are Never Meeting in real Life, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i've lived in Berlin for half a year and this has changed my life. I've met so many creative, artistic, open-minded, kinda crazy people and it has showed me how beautiful and diverse the world is and how many different ways there are of living your life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some cooking, I'm not the best, but it's always cosy and a nice experience to eat together.
Also, I can teach you some Dutch if you like. :)
