Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've met some great people in my journeys so far. I think it's an amazing thing when people cross paths traveling.

These interactions that only happen because one or both people decide to get on a plane... I think they are really special!

As I tend to travel alone I like to meet people who might want to join me at a museum, grab drinks, or see a concert. It makes things more fun!

Plus having someone who knows the area is a great way to find the hidden gems!

Interests

Recently I have been fostering dogs that are rescued here in Qatar, destined for homes across the globe.

I take a lot of photos and hoard them on my laptop. I have a waterproof camera so I can one day snap a whale shark.

I love many genres of music, and like to dance! (if you can call it dancing)

I grew up on an island so I love being near the ocean... Hope to try scuba diving soon!

I enjoy cooking but let's be real... the food is the best part. Love to try different cuisines!

I like technology, especially how it connects us with information and people (the way couchsurfing does)

Music, Movies, and Books

Always have a place for classic rock and folk music. I like many different genres but lately it's been mostly electro swing, folk punk, some drum and bass, and downtempo.

Favorite artists I've seen in the past year: Alt-J, Four Tet, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Bonobo, Galantis, Flogging Molly, Sigur Ros

I shamefully haven't read a good book in a few years. Big fan of 1984, The Doors of Perception, and Ender's Game, always enjoyed the Harry Potter series

The Big Lebowski (and any Coen brothers movie), any Quentin Tarantino, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, etc
