Hello there!
I am Mariann, currently studying in the beautiful town Maastricht in the Netherlands but I grew up in the former capital of Germany namely Bonn.

Whenever I am at university, I don't have much time to travel, which is why I use my breaks to explore more of the world. However, I am trying to move solely by bus and train to avoid the plane because of our lovely planet. This, of course, limits my travel options, but I feel like Europe offers great places to explore!

I am into interior design, calligraphy, other crafty things, cooking, and baking, doing some good old yoga and I am always reading some good crime novels. Plus, I do enjoy cleaning (I know, it is super super weird).
I live vegan (or at least vegetarian if cheese and milk are unavoidable) but I am not racist against any other eating habits. I am always open to cooking some crazy gluten-free-smoothie-cookie-cucumber-non-diary-avocado-cake or something like that :D Also, of course always ready to learn to make some local dishes!!

I wanna know all the details about your city! And since I'm not staying at a hostel, I wanna have a good time with you. Could be just a dinner we cook together, hanging out or doing some crazy shit (options are endless; you know what I am talking about). Also, I would not say no to a beer or just a good coffee.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Usually, *normal* people think it's crazy that I solo backpacked through South America for 7 months, but on Couchsurfing that is kinda required to be one of the cool kids. Well, anyway these are some of my great experiences that popped into my head:
- During high school, I lived in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere in Illinois (almost Southern USA) for a year. Man, I had some crazy times. Four-wheelers, barn parties, and bonfires were always involved!
- With friends, I run a bar/restaurant in the mountains of Bolivia for a month! How did that happen? It's a funny story I can tell ya.
- I spent my New Year's of 2018 with a Peruvian family with 0 Spanish skills. We just danced all night, ate and played the universal game Monopoly. Somehow it worked; it always works even with huge language barriers.

One could think after travelling through South America for 7 months my Spanish is perfect... sadly not :( So I'd appreciate your help. If you wanna know German, I could teach you some!
