Overview
About Me
I am KO YU LIN, a girl who always dream about travelling around the world to experience the variety of cultures, enjoy the beauty of scenery and meet people having their unique stories.
I have been to Malaysia, Macau and Japan. For me, each journey gave me chances for growth and sharing. The trip to Malaysia was the one for me to be braver to step out my comfort zone to speak English with native speaker, chat and be friends with whomever I met. My Macau trip was my first time to manage the whole itinerary, being responsible for guiding my family all the site-seeing places by doing detailed researches. In Japan, I got homestay in the countryside with the elders. The host shared me Japan traditional cultural, tea ceremony and Kimono;I brought the famous Taiwanese snack for them, pineapple cake, and showed them the Chinese calligraphy. This was a memorable trip because I had true connection with the locals and Japanese culture that let me know a lot more about the daily live there.
While I am not travelling, I still have connections with people worldwide. In my university, I am a member of Buddy program, a program for helping foreign students to adjust life in Taiwan. Not only do I help them to deal with campus and daily life stuff, I also show them around the best part in Taiwan, like the historical architectural, local food and amazing natural sceneries. I enjoy sharing whatever I know to others and are interested to hear other stories as well.
I am studying in Russia as exchange student, which gives me a great opportunity to travel around Russia and Europe. I deeply wish that in this year I can travel a lot and meet the local people to enjoy life and hear the stories for you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
With urban-rural and interregional gaps, students from my high school get little information of each department in university. Many of them enroll in the department don't fit them well and have a hard time. My friend and I want to change this situation and assist juniors to seek for the most suitable department. We hold the “university fair” with graduates sharing their experience and giving advices to juniors. Furthermore, they found the fair is helpful when they are applying for university. The “university fair” not only helps the juniors but also make me learn how to organize activities by negotiating with schools for project fund and inviting graduates for their participation. Nevertheless, I was the one who needed to deal with all the sudden situations right away. As a result, I gain great crisis management ability and communicating skills.
